Dolly M. Miller

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dolly Mae Deshong Miller, 75, of Chambersburg and formerly of 256 E. Madison St., Greencastle, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.

Born Oct. 8, 1925, in Harrisonville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Ethel Sipes Deshong.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Miller, in 1998. They were married Nov. 1, 1958.

She was a homemaker. Earlier, she worked for the former Windsor Shoe Factory in Greencastle.

She was a member of Macedonia United Brethren Church near Greencastle.

She attended Greencastle Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by two sons, Eugene C. Deshong of Frederick, Md. and Roger L. Deshong of Chambersburg, with whom she lived for the past month; three brothers, Elmer Deshong and John Deshong, both of Mercersburg, Pa. and Dale Deshong of Greencastle; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Road in Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. in Greencastle; and Tuesday at noon at the church.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Building Fund, Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Road, Greencastle, PA 17225.




Marie L. Davis

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Marie Lorraine Davis, 79, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born July 11, 1921, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Martin and Rose Anderson Davis.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.

She was a retired waitress.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was a member of VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Renada Davis of Martinsburg, and a sister, Frances D. Yurish of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Hollis and Burman Davis, and a brother, Steward Davis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will be celebrant. Burial prayers will be said at Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.




Robert L. Wasson

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Robert Lee Wasson, 44, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at his home.

Born Aug. 11, 1956, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Paul and Mary Madiline Collis Wasson of Martinsburg.

He was a Protestant.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mary Darlene Cupp of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Mary Elizabeth Bryant of Martinsburg, and four brothers, Roger Wasson, Taylor Wasson and Howard Wasson, all of Martinsburg, and Johnny Wasson of Hedgesville.

Services and burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.




Patricia C. Hoffman

DRY RUN, Pa. - Patricia C. Hoffman, 64, of Gold N' Gray Retirement Home, 18801 Main St. and formerly of Chambersburg, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born March 18, 1936, in Richeyville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Homer C. and Mae I. Hess Hoffman.

She was a 1952 graduate of Saxton Liberty High School.

She was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg as a clerical worker from 1954 to 1962. She also was a clerical worker for an army installation near Oakdale, Pa., for a number of years.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Chambersburg.

She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Hockenberry and Marjorie L. Harris, both of Chambersburg, and Letitia Beatty of Jacksonville, N.Y.; two brothers, Donald L. Hoffman and Lanny D. Hoffman, both of Chambersburg; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Homer Hoffman, Marvin Hoffman and Charles Hoffman.

Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro, Pa. The Rev. Steven D. Dorsett will officiate.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jack T. Mills Sr.

CLEAR SPRING - Jack Theodore Mills Sr., 70, of 13039 Independence Road, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born in Pinesburg, Md., he was the son of the late Florence Mills Hosfeld.

He was a retired carpenter. During his retirement, he worked for Morgan Keller Construction in Frederick, Md. Earlier, he had worked for the Western Maryland Railroad.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army as a sergeant.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Lorraine "Patsy" Bartles Mills; two daughters, Judy L. Smith and Jeannine I. Mills, both of Clear Spring; a son, Jack T. Mills Jr. of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport, which will open at 9 a.m. for the convenience of friends.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
