Grandchildren of city couple to perform in national musical



Brandon and Brittany Hargest, grandchildren of Janice and Allen Hargest of Hagerstown, are in the cast of the national touring company of "Child of the Promise," a new Broadway-style musical celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

The show, starring Donna Summer, Michael Crawford, Vince Gill and such contemporary Christian artists as Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Russ Taff, Bob Carlisle, Crystal Lewis and Twila Paris, will be performed at the Patriot Center at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., next Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $42.50, $32.50, $26 and $15 and can be ordered by calling 1-202-432-SEAT or at www.ticketmaster.com on the Web.

Brandon, 13, and Brittany, 12, live in Nashville, Tenn., and are under contract to Sparrow Records, a leading Christian record label.

The "Child of the Promise" tour began Nov. 25 in Boise, Idaho, and was performing in Dallas and Houston this weekend on its way east.

According to their grandmother, the Hargest children will also be featured in a Christmas special on Univision, the Spanish-language cable television channel, to be shown later this month.
