CUMBERLAND, Md. - Robin Curley stepped up with 13 points, six assists and three steals as Hagerstown Community College defeated Allegany 68-40 in a Maryland JuCo game on Saturday.

"We asked her to respond, and she did," HCC coach Marlys Palmer said. "She was the key."

Brooke Russ added 12 points, five assists and three steals as the Hawks (1-1, 1-1), who ran out to a 12-point halftime lead. Allegany cut it to seven in the second half before HCC turned up its full court pressure and pulled away.

Amy Fischer had 11 points, while Vennece Fowlkes led the Hawks with nine rebounds and five steals.

HUNTINGDON Pa. - Steve Weller had a team-high 19 points and seven rebounds as McConnellsburg notched its first win of the season against Fannett-Metal in the Southern Huntingdon Tip-Off.

Dane Pollock scored 16 points, hitting 8 of 9 free throws, and added four rebounds and four steals for McConnellsburg (1-1). Josh Strait added 11 points.

MCLEAN, Va. - Adama Diggs hit the game-winning 3-pointer with a second remaining as St. John's-Prospect Hall won the championship of the Potomac Tip-Off tournament over host Potomac.

Diggs finished with 12 points, while Carlos Martinez had eight points and nine rebounds for St. John's-PH (2-0).

BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. - Boiling Springs erased an eight-point halftime deficit by outscoring Greencastle 18-4 in the third quarter to beat the Blue Devils in the Boiling Springs Tip-Off Tournament on Friday.

Jeremy Barnes had 17 points, Eric Ile had 13 and Gavin Strait had 10 for the Blue Devils (0-1). Matt Keys led the Bubblers with 21 points.

Hedgesville sweeps quad

WINCHESTER, Va. - Hedgesville opened the season Saturday by sweeping James Wood, 41-21, Loudon County, 75-0, and Centerville, 61-18, at the James Wood Quad.

Kevin Ballam (112), Jared Hess (130), Danny Lord (140), Brian Moats (145) and Chuck Files (215) all went 3-0.
