Parks contracts approved
More than $330,000 in contracts for work at Hagerstown parks, including a contract to construct the central pavilion at Fairgrounds Park, were approved Tuesday by the City Council.
The contracts, which were approved by a 4-0 vote, include:
- $269,000 to Callas Contractors Inc. in Hagerstown for the construction of the central pavilion and related utility work at the Fairgrounds Park.
Assistant City Engineer Rodney Tissue said the construction will probably begin in February and be completed around the end of May. The pavilion will include restrooms, a concessions area, a scorekeeper's box, and a picnic area.
- $27,180 to L.W. Wolfe Enterprises Inc. in Myersville, Md. to resurface basketball and tennis courts at three city parks.
- $25,341 to Long Fence Co. in Ijamsville, Md. to furnish and install fencing in the outfields of softball fields at Fairgrounds Park.
