In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Jalen Altez Lee and Jameir Tawain Lee, both at home; two brothers, Eric Stubbs and James Stubbs, both of Hagerstown; five stepsisters, Roxanne Simms, Holly Johnson and Latrista McDowell, all of Martinsburg, Monique McDowell of Hagerstown and Garland Sue Myers of Kentucky; three stepbrothers, Garland Bright Jr., Antonio Bright and Quintin Bright, all of Martinsburg; an uncle; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 61 W. Bethel St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Haru Carter Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Friday at 10 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Memorial Recreation Center, c/o Twyna Stubbs and Sons, 109 W. North Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

Meryl B. Leonard

BETTERTON, Md. - Meryl Barbara Leonard, 69, of Betterton, and formerly of Springfield Farm in Williamsport, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at Kent and Queen Annes Hospital in Chestertown, Md.

Born July 24, 1931, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Henrietta Oberwager Schachter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leonard, in 1984.

She graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in English literature.

She operated an antique shop at Comus Inn in Comus, Md. for 15 years.

She was an award-winning amateur photographer.

She was a member of Chestertown Art League; and was active with the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.

She owned Springfield Farm, which is on the National Historic Register in Williamsport, and is the site of the Williamsport Museum.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan L. Hutchinson of Katy, Texas; two sons, Richard C. Leonard of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Stephen E. Leonard of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport.

Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Va.

The family will receive friends Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m.
