Mail Call for 11/15

"This Thanksgiving month - I'd like to thank many people. First, God given of all things, My neighbor Charles for keeping my yard in shape, my friend and church for being there for me and Colton Villa Nursing Home. My son Kenny is blind and right leg is off below the knee from diabetes. He has been a patient there for two years. They are very special and caring people and deserve a special thanks. I'm 82 years old and a widow for 17 years. Don't forget my children and grandchildren. Everyone. Thank you, from 'Ginny."'

"This refers to stealing window clings from your neighbors windows on Winter Street. You are stealing from an 8-year-old kid, you are not stealing from anyone but kids. They are there year after year, and then one day they are gone. You know that your neighbors are the ones doing it."

"The entire United States should re-vote because we are one country, not just one state. Next year when you vote, if you have a problem understanding the ballot ask the people there. That is what they are there for."

"Zane, we are going to miss you. You were a great guy."

"I don't believe that it is proper to use Veterans Day to promote sales. I feel that it is not in any way honoring our veterans. You are showing a complete disregard for what Veterans Day is all about."

"Is there anyone out there that can tell me about Toys for Tots? I need a phone number or something. My number is 301-797-4234."

"I want to thank a truck driver in a purple truck for Jeter Paving. You were very courteous for letting me out at the bank. Thanks very much. You need a pat on the back for that."

"I wanted to say, regardless of who we elect as president, let's pull together as Americans and get on with the work at hand. Be better people and better moral people and defend our constitution of the United States. There is no sense in arguing over who the president should have been. The whole thing is, whoever it is let's support him. This is still America. There are bills to be paid, work to be done, let's get on with it."

"I want to thank The Herald-Mail for putting a copy of the voter ballot in the paper. I had my 4-year- old child look at it. He told me that he wanted to vote for George Bush. I asked him which circle belonged to George Bush and he pointed to the right one. So, if a 4- year-old can do it, surely the age group between 18 and 70 can do it. I did have to read the names to him, but once I read the names to him and he did understand where the arrows and the circles are supposed to be. All I can say is Al Gore, you lost. You Democrats are power hungry, but you know what, get over it. It is time to get on with the real business of this country."

"In response to the remark about the bands not playing that much. I am a band member, I have been marching in the bands for years and years and now I am marching in the alumni band. The reason the bands don't play the entire time is because you have to save your lips. It is not easy to play all through the parade. Your lips get tired and by the time you get to the end of the parade you are too tired to perform for the judges. If you think you should, then you need to get an instrument and march down the parade route, playing the entire time and then you will know what it is like."

"I think it should be mandatory for the entire United States to be re-voted, instead of re-counting. They should all be done up again."

"I was excited about getting a new president, but at this point, I am sick of hearing about it and I think, they should just keep Clinton in and get rid of Bush and Gore. Then nobody will be fighting over who's cheating and lying or whatever."
