Maugansville marker vandalized

MAUGANSVILLE - A war monument foundation in Maugansville was vandalized on or the day after Veteran's Day, Washington County Sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies said names were written on a cement slab in which a war veteran's monument will be placed by the Maugansville Ruritan, deputies said.

The vandalism occurred between 10 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies said.

City man charged with DUI, drugs

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A Hagerstown man was charged with driving under the influence and drug possession after a homeowner found the man passed out on his front porch Saturday morning, Pennsylvania State Police.

The man allegedly lost control of his car while headed eastbound on Hykes Road and drove through a cow pasture fence several times, disabling his vehicle, police said.


He then walked to a residence on Greenmont Road in Antrim Township, police said. The homeowner allegedly found the man passed out on his porch around 6:25 a.m., police report.

Police were called and arrested Marc Blagg, 24, for driving under the influence, possession of a small amount of marijuana and several traffic offenses, police said.

He was released from police custody and faces a court hearing, police report.

Teen charged with disorderly conduct

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police charged a Mercersburg, Pa., teen with disorderly conduct after he allegedly fired a gun in the area of a hunter who had yelled at him minutes earlier, police said.

Raymond McNulty, 41, of Mercersburg, told police the 16-year-old had driven by on an all-terrain vehicle and scared away a buck while he was hunting in a field near Lindot Road around 3 p.m. Saturday. McNulty allegedly became angry and yelled at the juvenile, police said.

The juvenile left the area and returned a few minutes later and discharged a firearm near McNulty, which "seriously alarmed" him, according to a police report.

Man treated following accident

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - A Shippensburg, Pa., man suffered minor injuries after he lost control of his car Saturday while attempting to stop for a turning vehicle, Pennsylvania State Police report.

Roger Diller, 48, was driving north on Woodstock Road when he attempted to stop for a vehicle turning left on to Brindle Road, police said.

Diller lost control of his car and slid off the road, struck a mailbox and overturned, police report.

Diller was treated at Chambersburg Hospital for his injuries, police said.

Chambersburg Emergency Medical Service and Fire Police assisted State Police.

Three hurt in wreck in Letterkenny Twp.

ORRSTOWN, Pa. - Three people were injured Friday evening when their car ran off a road in Letterkenny Township, Pennsylvania State Police Report.

Samuel Alban, 35, of Glen Rock, Pa., was driving a 2000 Toyota Tundra when he allegedly swerved on Pa. 533 and failed to negotiate a curve in the road, police said. The car struck an embankment and rolled on to its roof, police report.

Alban, and passengers Dustin Reed 17, of Seven Valleys, Pa., and Thomas Krout, 64, of Felton, Pa., were all treated at Chambersburg Hospital for various minor injuries, police said.
