Man arrested in connection with stabbing

Hagerstown City Police Monday arrested a man in connection with the Saturday night stabbing of a Vermont man in the 300 block of Burhans Boulevard.

Police said they were called to the area of the 300 block of Burhans Boulevard at 8:50 p.m. to investigate a complaint of a stabbing.

Johnny Arthur McAllister, 36, of Williamstown, Vt., said he had been stabbed in the upper left arm by a homeless person at the CSX Railroad property.

McAllister was treated at Washington County Hospital and released.

Police said McAllister knew his assailant by the nickname "Troll," and provided a description.

Officers checked out the area of the assault for the assailant on Saturday but didn't find him.

Police interviewed witnesses and Monday arrested a man in the first block of West Franklin Street in connection with the stabbing.
