Roundup: Rebels finish regular season strong


Cara Crouse had 21 assists and 16 service points as South Hagerstown closed out its regular season with an 11-15, 15-7, 16-14, 15-10 victory over Clear Spring in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League on Monday.

Allison Wine had 10 kills and 11 service points, Jill Watson had four kills and seven service points, Carri Shank had five kills and six service points, Jessica Shadrach had eight service points and Ashley Reeder had four kills for the Rebels (5-9).

Amie Eichelberger had 14 service points and seven assists for the Blazers. Tara Meyers had seven assists, Sara Barr had six kills and Ariann Rowe had four kills and four service points.


Grace 3, Riverdale Baptist 1

FREDERICK, Md. - Josh Barnhart scored two goals and added an assist, while Jason McMillan added a goal as Grace Academy (14-4) won in the first round of the ACSI playoffs.


Williamsport 42, Hancock 0: Delvon Brown had rushing touchdowns of 51, 53 and 69 yards for the Wildcats (4-4). Josh Foley was 6-for-6 on extra points.


Salisbury State 8, Gallaudet 0

Salisbury advanced to the semifinals of the CAC tournament with a victory over Gallaudet.


Olsen, Gibson earn honors

Frostburg State women's cross country runner Inga Olsen and men's soccer player Kirk Gibson received honors announced Monday.

Olsen, a sophomore who graduated from Catoctin, shared the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference women's cross country title with teammate Megan McNew, as both finished in 20 minutes, 19 seconds. McNew and Olsen were named conference co-MVPs and shared player of the week honors.

Gibson, a senior from Middletown, was named AMCC men's soccer athlete of the week after scoring both goals in FSU's 2-1 win over Grove City on Saturday.
