Lavina R. Stotelmyer

Lavina Rae "Venni" Stotelmyer, 49, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at the Western Maryland Hospital Center in Hagerstown.

Born July 20, 1951, she was the daughter of Betty Lesher of Chambersburg, Pa., and the late Bernard Peters.

She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School.

She was employed by Coffman Nursing Home and The Dagmar Hotel, both in Hagerstown.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles Stotelmyer; three sisters, Judy Harris of Baltimore, Kimberly Holden of Chambersburg and April Russell of Pleasant Hall; three brothers, Ricky Peters and Bernard Peters Jr., both of Chambersburg, and James Peters of Philadelphia; and nieces and nephews.

It was her request that her remains be donated for medical research.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.




Marguerite J. Anders

KEEDYSVILLE - Marguerite J. Anders, 67, of 18322 Mansfield Road, died Saturday, Oct. 28, at Reeders Nursing Home in Boonsboro.

Born Feb. 10, 1933, in Waterville, Maine, she was the daughter of the late James and Florence McDonough.

Her husband, John W. Anders, preceded her in death.

A veteran of the Korean War, she served in the U.S. Navy.

At Reeders Nursing Home, she was the official activity department photographer and resident volunteer. She was a member of Diners Club.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Anders and Steven Anders, both of Keedysville, and Michael Anders of Boonsboro; one sister, Constance Longley of Orvilla, Texas; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Prisilla LaGrange.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., in Hagerstown. The Rev. Patricia Drake will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Washington County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.




Britty V. Cave

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Britty V. Cave, 65, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at City Hospital.

Born May 30, 1935, in Tabor City, N.C., she was the daughter of Macie Rabon Todd of Lake City, S.C., and the late Jerry Todd.

She was a member of Martinsburg Church of God.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Walter E. Cave; a daughter, Gloria Cave of Martinsburg; two sons, Paul Cave and Jerry Cave, both of Martinsburg; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Austin Todd and J.D. Todd.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Dallas E. Waggle will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




J. Henry Heisey

BELLEVIEW, Fla. - J. Henry Heisey, 84, of 5155 Southeast 115th St., Apt. 4, and formerly of Mercersburg, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at his home.

Born July 20, 1916, in Upton, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel A. and Edna Hartman Heisey.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Hatmaker Heisey; and by his second wife, Catherine Ingram Heisey.

He was a graduate of Lemasters (Pa.) High School.

He was a partner in the former S.A. Heisey and Sons Orchards, Mercersburg.

He is survived by a son, Richard H. Heisey of Mercersburg; a sister, Helen H. Rohrer of Hagerstown; and a granddaughter, Lisa Heisey of Mercersburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg. The Rev. Michael R. Brendle will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg.




Nancy W. Sardone

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Nancy Winn B. Sardone, 79, of Tuscawilla Hills, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born June 10, 1921, in Middleway, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Julia Lane Moore Barnes.

She was a graduate of Charles Town High School.

She had been a secretary for Lloyds of London Insurance Brokers in Washington, D.C.

She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, Charles Town, and a former member of Grace Episcopal Church, Middleway.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joseph G. Sardone; two stepchildren, Jerry Sardone of Reston, Va., and Janet Sardone Owens of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Zion Episcopal Church, Charles Town. The Rev. Jack Weise will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.

Bertha C. Geisler

FREDERICK, Md. - Bertha "June" Cannon Geisler, 78, of Frederick, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
