Scholarship named for Patrick Roy
A memorial scholarship for fallen seaman Patrick Howard Roy has been set up at his former high school, according to his mother, Kate Brown.
Brown, of Keedysville, said she attended a memorial service and dedication of a tree in her son's name at the Storm King School in Cornwall-on-Hudson in New York Saturday.
Patrick Roy attended his last three years of high school there, she said.
Donations to the scholarship fund in his memory may be mailed to Storm King School, 314 Mountain Road, Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, 12520-1899.
Roy and 16 others were killed or wounded aboard the USS Cole Oct. 12 in an apparent terrorist attack.
The last of the remains of those killed in the explosion in Aden, Yemen, arrived Sunday afternoon at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. The remains were recovered Thursday by the Navy. Following autopsy and identification, the remains will be turned over to the families.
