Genevieve S. Tedrick

Genevieve Shaw Tedrick, 75, of 15507 National Pike, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at her home.

Born March 28, 1925, in Big Spring, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Victor and Nancy Kline Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Cornell Tedrick, in 1999.

She was a 1943 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

She worked in the fashion department of Sears and Roebuck in Hagerstown. She also was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Big Pool, Md., where she was a member of the choir, among other organizations.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah T. Hall of Willards, Md.; a son, Dennis Cornell Tedrick of Clear Spring; a sister, Marie Hofe of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosie Louise Stevens, and a brother, James Victor Shaw.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Big Pool. The Rev. Dennis Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be in Shanktown Cemetery in Big Pool.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike in Clear Spring.

Dartha L. Pyle

Dartha Louise Pyle, 88, of 11 Blue Spruce Circle, Hagerstown, who died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward Hartman, Pete Hartman, Calvin Hartman, Herman Hartman and Harry Hartman.




Frances W. Morris

LEETOWN, W.Va. - Frances W. "Fanny Lou" Morris, 71, of Leetown, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at her home.

Born June 10, 1929, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Lillian B. Brown Wartenbee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Morris, in 1985.

She was a graduate of Charles Town High School in Charles Town, W.Va.

She retired from Royce Hosiery in Martinsburg, W.Va. Previously, she worked for J.J. Newberry Co. Inc. in Charles Town.

She was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church.

She was a former member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1028 of Charles Town and a former member and past president of Charles Town Womans Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah M. Nichols of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Micki M. Price of Yorktown, Va.; a son, John S. Morris Jr. of Leetown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth B. Wartenbee.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Charles Town Presbyterian Church, 220 E. Washington St. in Charles Town. The Rev. William Everhart will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.

Raymond E. Needy

SMITHSBURG - Raymond Edward Needy, 73, of Smithsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Julia Manor Nursing Center in Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 17, 1927, in Beaver Creek, he was the son of the late Everitt Franklin and Nina O. Snyder Needy.

He was employed by Mack Trucks in Hagerstown for 24 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Mack Trucks local of United Auto Workers.

He was a member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen Ellen Grossnickle Needy; a son, Paul E. Needy of Hagerstown; two brothers, Howard Needy and David Needy, both of Hagerstown; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Rachel Black will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 p.m.

Boyd F. Monninger

Boyd Frederick "Fred" Monninger, 80, of 749 Spruce St., Hagerstown, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born July 17, 1920, in Rockdale, he was the son of the late Jacob Boyd and Della May Drury Monninger.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Madeline Davis Monninger, in 1972.

He had been employed for 15 years by the City of Hagerstown, retiring in 1982.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church.

He was a member of Williamsport American Legion.

He is survived by his second wife of 27 years, Theda V. Grim Monninger; a daughter, Shirley Lowery of Boonsboro; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Bass of Hagerstown; a sister, Lillie Shank of Shady Grove, Pa.; a brother, George Monninger of Funkstown; four grandchildren; a step-grandson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
