Anniversary announcements for 10/14

The Swopes were married Aug. 25, 1950, at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. L.E. Teter.

Mrs. Swope is the former Dorothy Smith, daughter of the late Lloyd L. and Ruth A. Smith. She worked at J.J. Newberry Co. for 20 years.

Mr. Swope is the son of John W. Swope Jr. of Hagerstown and the late Geraldine M. Swope. He retired in 1987 from Western Maryland Railroad/CSX after 42 years of service.

The Walcks

John Eugene and Esther (Hykes) Walck celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at their home in Greencastle, Pa.

The event was hosted by their children, Lori Walck of Damascus, Md., and Larry Walck and his family of Greencastle. Larry Walck and his son, Eric, provided music for family and friends.

The Walcks were married Sept. 23, 1950, in Hagerstown by the Rev. G.I. Rider, now deceased.

Mrs. Walck recently retired from Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 Special Pupil Services.

Mr. Walck retired from Hagerstown Canteen Service Inc. after 43 years of service.

They have three grandchildren.

The Faulders

Mr. and Mrs. Donald V. Faulder of Mount Lena celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000.

The Faulders were married Aug. 9, 1950, in Hagerstown.

Mrs. Faulder is the former Anna Mae Leatherman of Sharpsburg. She retired in 1994 from Pangborn Corp. after 27 years of service.

Mr. Faulder retired in 1994 from Pangborn Corp. after 43 years of service.

The Faulders are charter members of Mason-Dixon Travelers, a local camping organization. They have camped for more than 35 years.

They have one son, Thurston E. Faulder of Boonsboro, and one granddaughter.
