Juveniles charged with theft in Pa.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Two juveniles were charged with theft Wednesday for stealing cash from a borough man's home, according to a Chambersburg police report.

Police said two boys, ages 13 and 15, were charged with the theft, which occurred between August 15 and Wednesday. The report said $1,380 was stolen from the South Second Street home of George W. Miller II.

Two hurt in I-81 one-vehicle accident

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said two people were hurt in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday on Interstate 81 in Antrim Township.

The report said Claire Giard, 73, of New Port Richey, Fla., was driving south at 3 p.m. when she lost control of her car and struck a guardrail at the Zarger Road overpass. She was treated and released from Chambersburg Hospital, but her passenger, Robert Giard, 75, was admitted and listed in good condition Thursday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Information sought in prisoner's escape

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Franklin County Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the capture of a Fulton County man who escaped from Franklin County Prison last month.

The Pennsylvania State Police report said Jason Robert Sheffield, 18, of Harrisonville, Pa., failed to return from a work release assignment Sept. 26. Sheffield was being held on burglary, theft and escape charges when he went to work at Valk Manufacturing in Silver Spring Township.

Police said Sheffield left work shortly after his arrival and has not been seen since. He is described as white, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 140 pounds.

Sheffield was last seen wearing a black goose-down jacket, brown corduroy pants and white sneakers.

Two charged with drugs by city police

Three people were being held at the Washington County Detention Center Thursday after drugs and a weapon were found during an incident at the Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot Wednesday evening, Hagerstown City Police said.

Raymond Joseph Denson II, 24, was charged with possession of marijuana and crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute.

He was being held on $55,000 bond.

Charlotte Marie Line, 18, was charged possession of crack cocaine and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was being held on $25,000 bond.

Shepherd Warren Anderson, 24 was also charged in connection with the incident, police said. A list of his charges was unavailable. Police said they searched Anderson and found a handgun in his possession.

He was being held on $145,000 bond.

Police were called to the shopping center parking after receiving a report of an alleged drug deal taking place.

When police arrived a woman and two men were taken into custody.

Additional information was unavailable.

1986 Jaguar stolen in county

Someone stole a 1986 Jaguar XJS on Wednesday from a home at 11634 Harp Road, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.

The car bears Maryland tags 744 ATY.

Also on Wednesday, deputies were alerted to the presence of two counterfeit $20 bills which turned up at the Foot Locker in Valley Mall.

Windshield shattered in Pa.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - An object apparently thrown from the McKinley Street overpass over Interstate 81 late Wednesday night cracked a Chambersburg man's windshield, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Robert Staley, of Springfield Drive, told police he was northbound on I-81at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday when the object hit his 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier on the right side of the windshield.
