Mont Alto man dies following accident

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - A Mont Alto, Pa., man was pronounced dead at Waynesboro Hospital shortly after a one-car accident

Wednesday afternoon on the 200 block of Price's Church Road, according to Waynesboro police.

Killed in the 4:35 p.m. accident was Theodore F. Funk, 56, of 301 Park St., police said. He was pronounced dead by Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner.

Police said Funk was driving north when his 1988 Dodge Aries ran off the right side of the road, hitting a mailbox and utility pole. The car rolled onto the driver's side, police said.

Funk was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the driver's side window, police said.

The accident disrupted telephone, electric and cable television service to the area and closed Price's

Church Road for about two and a half hours, police said.

The police report said alcohol was suspected to have been a factor in the accident and Conner ordered blood alcohol tests be performed.
