GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Micah Laughlin scored on an assist by Josh Meketa for No. 1 Greencastle to preserve a 1-1 tie on Monday with Shippensburg.

Shippensburg tied the game on a goal by Matt Gerlock. Greencastle (11-2-1) outshot Shippensburg, 28-14.

Greencastle's Ryan Hoffman had 14 saves.

Gettysburg 2, Chambersburg 1

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Adam Weikert scored in overtime on a header to give Gettysburg the win over No. 2 Chambersburg (8-6-2).

Dave Monsour scored the other goal for Gettysburg as Kevin Roland scored Chambersburg's goal on an assist form Drew Wellman.

St. John's-PH 1, Notre Dame 1

FREDERICK, Md. - Carmine Vignola scored on a set up from John Kissane and Joe Palkovic to tie the game for St. John's at Prospect Hall.

St. Maria Goretti's Mike Wade tied for medalist honors by shooting a 39 as the Gaels defeated Mercersburg Academy at Fountainhead Country Club.

Mercersburg's Chris Gallon matched Wade's 39.

Goretti is 9-4 overall.

Shepherd's Field wins honor

PRINCETON, W.Va. - The defense in the West Virginia Conference was so good last Saturday, Shepherd College defensive end Chris Field was one of three players to share honors as the league's defensive player of the week.

Field had seven tackles, including three sacks and a safety, in a 33-16 win at West Virginia University-Tech.

West Liberty's E.J. Burt had 10 tackles, including four sacks, in a 21-7 win over Concord. He also forced and recovered a fumble. Fairmont State's Jake Spruell had 13 tackles, an interception and a pass breakup against Glenville.

Fairmont State's Bryan Harman was named the offensive player honors by completing 22 of 38 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown in a 33-9 win over Glenville State. He also rushed for touchdowns of 11 and 24 yards and accounted for 333 yards of total offense.

Frostbite Softball

Osborne/Richards Wilbert 31-4, Jerry's Sports/Adam's Pizza 30-19: Mike Green had six hits with two homers to lead Osborne/Richards over Jerry's/Adam's in the opener. Donnie Blickenstaff had four hits, including a homer, as Darrell Trumpower had five hits for the winners. Dan Weaver had six hits to lead Jerry's as Joey Springer had five hits and Danny Berg and Frank Hrod each had four hits. In the second game, Hrod, Brad Weaver, Al Larger and Troy Canfield all had three hits for Jerry's/Adam's.

Mount women take second

LIGONIER, Pa. - Mount St. Mary's bunched four golfers within eight strokes of each other to finishe second at the three-team Seton Hill College Invitational at Ligonier Country Club.

Freshman Thea Tharp led the Mount effort with a 102 as St. Francis (Pa.) coasted to the tournament title with a 348 team score. The Mount scored 423, while host Seton Hill, an NAIA school in Greensburg, Pa., placed third with a 426.

Erika Gundersen carded a 105 for the Mountaineers, while Trish Youngblood shot a 106 and Tracy Deuber recorded a 110 to round out the Mount scorers.
