Va. man killed in I-81 wreck

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 24-year-old Roanoke, Va., man died Wednesday morning when his car skidded off Interstate 81 near the state line between Virginia and West Virginia.

Corey Rojas apparently fell asleep at the wheel as he was traveling southbound on I-81 near Mile Post 3, said Trooper J.M. Droppelman of the West Virginia State Police.

His car veered off the road into the median, overturned and then catapulted back across the two southbound lanes before hitting a tree, Droppelman said. Rojas was thrown from the car and died instantly, he said.

A passenger in the vehicle, Krissy Ajosto, 19, also of Roanoke, was taken to Martinsburg City Hospital, where she was treated and released.
