Business college reports burglary


Thieves got about $300 in cash Monday after breaking into the Hagerstown Business College's bookstore and one dormitory, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.

The campus is at 18618 Crestwood Drive.

- Also on Monday, someone tried to break into a van parked at Paper Plus at 1425 Dual Highway. Damage was $300.

- Wheels, tires and tools were taken Monday from a number of vehicles on the lot at Free State Towing, 11609 Hopewell Road.

Two headstones broken at cemetery


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Vandals broke two headstones at the Allison United Methodist Church cemetery, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The crime, which was reported Monday, may have occurred sometime after Sept. 18 at the cemetery on Greenvillage Road just south of Pa. 997.

Police search for missing rented car


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg police are looking for a woman who allegedly failed to return a rented car last week.

Police said they had issued a warrant on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for Lori S. Farner, 29, whose address was unknown. The report alleged she did not return a rented 1991 Ford Thunderbird to Keystone Rent-A-Car Inc., 1567 S. Main St., Friday.

Police said Farner is believed to be in the Chambersburg area.
