Ruth M. Bumbaugh

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Ruth M. Kline Bumbaugh, 81, of 10301 Fish and Game Road, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Morning Glory Retirement Home in State Line, Pa.

Born March 5, 1919, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Amanda Mentzer Kline.

Her husband, Crawford "Bummy" Bumbaugh Jr., died Sept. 20, 1994. They were married Feb. 19, 1937.

She was employed in the dietary department of the Waynesboro Hospital for 12 years; then worked at Claire Frock Co. in Thurmont, Md. as a folder, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of Rouzerville Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by a son, Fred E. Bumbaugh of Waynesboro; a sister, Esther Sprenkle of Waynesboro; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Kline and Beatrice Crew; and three brothers, Virgil Kline, Leroy Kline, and Delvin Kline.


Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Leonard W. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery, Gettysburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joyce W. Easton

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Joyce Wharton Easton, 89, of Williamsburg, and formerly of Hancock, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, in Williamsburg.

Born March 9, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John and Beaula Barnhart Wharton. She was raised in Hancock.

Her husband, Thomas J. Easton, died Nov. 25, 1991.

She retired as a registered nurse in the Baltimore area.

She is survived by a sister, June Barnard of Williamsburg; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, Hancock. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 14253 Exline Road, Hancock, MD 21750.

Joan M. Gouker

Joan Marie Gouker, 52, of 9620 June Ave., Hagerstown, died of cancer Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at her home.

Born May 25, 1948, in Long Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of James L. and Grace Marie Santoro of Rouzerville, Pa.

She was previously employed by Larkin Wholesale for 12 years.

She was a member of Williamsport Pocahontas Conococheague Tribe No. 84, Hagerstown Country and Western Dance Association, and the National Tennessee Walking Horse Association.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Robert L. Gouker; two daughters, Laura Segerlind and Jennifer Segerlind, both at home; a sister, Patricia Porter of Waynesboro, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Stephanne Saunders of Hagerstown; a niece and a nephew.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis E. Whitmore will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Martin J. Bambrick Jr.

SHARPSBURG - Martin Joseph Bambrick Jr., 72, of 18823 Burnside Bridge Road, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church at Washington and Church streets, Shepherdstown. The Rev. Matthew Rowgh will be celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 101 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or to Millbrook Orchestra, P.O. Box 580, Shepherdstown, WV 25443.

Arrangements are by Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Randolph S. Getts Sr.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Randolph Seldon Getts Sr., 57, of Charles Town, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born Oct. 2, 1943, in Kearneysville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lloyd Franklin and Julia Virginia Sprinkle Getts.

He had worked for Carl Collis Painting Contractors, Leesburg, Va. He formerly worked for B&G Painting Contractors, Rippon, W.Va.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received the Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert (Rifle) Badge, among others.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of American Legion Post 21, Berryville, Va.

He is survived by his wife, Eden M. Dodson Getts, whom he married June 20, 1981; a son, Randolph S. Getts Jr. of Charles Town; a daughter, Sandra Virginia Getts of Charles Town; seven stepchildren, Christopher Heflin, James A. Dodson, Dwayne Dodson, Theresa Dodson, and Mary Dodson, all of Charles Town, Angela Dodson of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Robert Dodson Jr. of Middleway, W.Va.; three brothers, Elmer Getts of Inwood, W.Va., Franklin Getts of Charles Town, and Robert Getts of Rippon; 15 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
