Dobrzanski's three TD runs lead Hancock

HANCOCK - It was Chris Dobrzanski's night to shine.

Hancock's senior tailback rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns and threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to lead Hancock to a 34-14 win over the Maryland School for the Deaf Thursday night.

"I think the offensive line did a great job of blocking," Dobrzanski said. "That blocking opened up the paths for the running backs. I just ran the football hard. Hancock plays good smashmouth football. Our offense was able to move the ball down the field well. Our defense was able to penetrate and that made their quarterback run out the pocket and pass on the run."

"Chris Dobrzanski has just played like a man among boys during the last two games," Hancock coach Bill Sterner added. "You can't ask for anymore from a power back in an I-formation. My coaching staff prepared this team perfectly. It was a total program effort."

Linebacker Justin Moore made eight tackles and defensive tackle Jim Bowman had three quarterback sacks for the Panthers.

"It was just a total team effort tonight," Dobrzanski added. "We had good senior leadership all night. It felt pretty great. There were just a lot of players that contributed to the victory tonight."

Josh Wills scored on a 10-yard run for the Panthers (2-2), who have won two straight.

"After we started out 0-2, all of the players had a meeting and they decided that they were going to turn things around," Sterner said. "I believe this team has turned the corner. We are playing with determination and pride. We are committed to playing better each week. The offensive line as a group had another great game. Josh Wills has shown tremendous maturity running the offense."
