One man charged, one man sought in drug bust

SHARPSBURG - One man was arrested and another was being sought after authorities found marijuana and ecstasy tablets in a vehicle Wednesday afternoon, Washington County Sheriff's deputies said.

Joshua Nathaniel Nelson, 19, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Ecstasy with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released after posting $20,000 bond Thursday evening.

Deputies said they stopped a vehicle at Battleview Restaurant parking lot at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday because it matched a suspicious vehicle complaint filed earlier in the day.

A deputy noticed an odor of suspected burning marijuana coming from the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found a large plastic bag that contained 10 smaller bags of a substance believed to be marijuana and a smaller bag of suspected Ecstasy tablets.

Anyone with information on the identity of the driver may call the Washington County Sheriff's Department, 301-791-3020.
