Evelyn M. Miller

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Evelyn M. Saville Miller, 78, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born June 21, 1922, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Edgar and Leva Alma Pitzer Saville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Otis Miller.

She retired from Perfection Garment Co.

She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church.

She was a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union; and AARP.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet M. Ashton of Middletown, Md.; two sons, John E. Miller and George H. Miller, both of Tomahawk, W.Va.; a sister, Margaret Wilhelm of Tomahawk; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Carroll B. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Morris D. Hewitt Jr.

OAKTON, Va. - Morris Donald Hewitt Jr., 55, of Oakton, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at Fairfax (Va.) Hospital.

Born Feb. 10, 1945, in Maryland, he was the son of Juanita M. Hewitt Wolfensberger of Hagerstown, and the late Morris Donald Hewitt Sr.

He was an engineer.

He was a member of American Legion Funkstown Post 211; and Moose of Vienna, Va.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his first wife, Linda Sutphin of Frederick, Md.; a daughter, Angel Hewitt of New Market, Md.; a son, Morris D. Hewitt III of Frederick; his stepfather, Kenneth Wolfensberger of Hagerstown; four sisters, Glenda Geris of Fredericksburg, Va., Sharon Fritz of Frederick, and Ruth Hebb and Nellie Keck, both of Hagerstown; and a brother, John Wolfensberger of California.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Wolfensberger.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna.

Local services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Funkstown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home in Hagerstown.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Juanita J. Walker

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Juanita Jeanette Walker, 74, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Shenandoah Health Care Center in Charles Town.

Born Aug. 25, 1926, in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Parker Fox.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Drummond; and by her second husband, Calvin H. Walker.

She attended Harpers Ferry High School.

She was employed as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, retiring in 1983 after 35 years.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Denise Walker and Renita Walker, both of Harrisburg, Pa.; two stepsons, Paul Walker and Ricky Walker, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Pearl Coffin and Cordell Slade, both of Philadelphia; a brother, John C. Fox of Harpers Ferry; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wainwright Baptist Church, South West Street in Charles Town. The Rev. Walter Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.




David L. White

BERLIN, Md. - A memorial service for David Lee Cross White, 38, of Berlin, who died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wolfsville, Md. Pastor David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 12704 Wolfsville Road, Smithsburg, MD 21783.

Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.




Leitha M. Clark

SHARPSBURG - A memorial service for Leitha Mae Clark, 67, of 6500 Dam No. 4 Road, who died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Gateway Ministries, Greencastle Pike in Williamsport. The Rev. Victor Fowlkes will officiate.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Gateway Ministries.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Harry Izer Jr.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Harry Izer Jr., 81, of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 26 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born Oct. 18, 1918, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Harry E. Sr. and Bertha C. Bumgardner Izer.

He attended Waynesboro schools.
