Fire damages W.Va. house

MARTINSBURG, W. Va. About $30,000 damage was done to a home on Apple Way in Inwood Monday night, said Deputy Chief Rick Petry of the South Berkeley Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the scene about 6 p.m., Petry said. He did not have an exact street address or name of the owner.

"I'd say about 50 percent of the house was (on fire), pretty much the whole right side, when we got there," Petry said. It took the firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the blaze. No one was injured. About 30 people battled the fire.

Petry said no cause has been determined. The owner was not home at the time, Petry said.
