Motorcyclist still in hospital Monday


STATE LINE, Pa. - A motorcyclist who lost control of his vehicle on State Line Road Sunday afternoon and hit a Jeep Cherokee remained hospitalized in serious condition Monday at Washington County Hospital.

Jeffery Covell, 35, of State Line, Pa., was eastbound at 3 p.m. when he came out of a bend in the road and collided with the Jeep, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Adam Long, 22, and Keelyn Long, 1, of Waynesboro, who were in the Jeep, were unhurt, police said.

Car egged, keyed


Washington County Sheriff's deputies reported someone egged and keyed a car at 19 W. Maple St. in Funkstown Sunday. Damage was $100.

Woodsplitter stolen


Washington County sheriff's deputies said a woodsplitter valued at $1,200 was stolen Sunday from 11815 St. Paul Road.

City police handle vandalism calls


Hagerstown City Police were busy with vandalism calls Saturday and early Sunday:

- Two windshields were broken on vehicles parked on Radcliffe Avenue, police said.

- Two vehicles were scratched along Frederick Street, police said.

- In a possibly related incident, a parked Jeep was pushed into a utility pole on Frederick Street, police said.
