Serve it up - TJ's Koski a surprise at perfect

Jim Dorsch has a couple of candidates for his best server on the Thomas Johnson volleyball team: Emily Hauver gets an ace once out of every five serves, Kristen Palm gets almost three points every time she steps to the line.

Before this season, Allison Koski wouldn't have been a candidate.

She is now.

The senior setter sits perfect through five matches for the undefeated Patriots, going 63-for-63 on her serve - 42 of them for points.

"It's as much a surprise to us as everyone else," Dorsch said with a laugh. "She had a good serve last year, it just wasn't this consistent. Right now, just doing a real good job of hitting it where she wants to - and it's going in."

She's also picked up eight aces along the way, the third best total on the team.

"The way she hits it, it's just a knuckleball," Dorsch said. "It's a solid, flat hit. But she's worked real hard on moving it around, people don't get used to where it's going."
