Raymond P. Donaldson

Raymond Phillip Donaldson, 68, of 300 Devonshire Road, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 8, 1932, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Raymond and Genevieve K. Donaldson.

He was employed by Mack Trucks Inc. for 26 years and also was employed part-time with the S.P.C.A.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War.

He was a member of Christ Fellowship Assembly of God.

He was a member of Funkstown Post 211 American Legion, U.A.W. 171, Antietam Fire Co., and V.F.W. Post 1936.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Gesford Donaldson; one daughter, Kathy Ann Crampton of Sharpsburg; two sons, Jimmy Ray Donaldson of Sharpsburg and Mark Allan Donaldson of State Line, Pa.; one half-sister, Helen Everhart; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Gary Cote and the Rev. Ernest Witmer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gertrude B. Rasey

Gertrude Burull Rasey, 93, of Julia Manor Health Care Center, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at the center.

Born June 11, 1907, in Beloit, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Grace Bartlett Burull.

Her husband, Lowell C. Rasey, died July 16, 1981.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Church of Christian Scientist.

She is survived by one son, Watson G. Rasey of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Clark O. Rasey; and one sister, Marion Downings.

Memorial services will be held today at 9 a.m. at Mount Moriah Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association of Washington County, 322 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are by Rest Haven Funeral Chapel in Hagerstown.




Melvin R. Cutchall

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Melvin R. Cutchall, 79, 6470 Little Cove Road, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born April 10, 1921, in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late Frank M. and Pauline M. Eader Cutchall.

He was a graduate of McConnellsburg High School and a 1949 graduate of Chambersburg Business School.

He retired in 1984 from the former Cutchall Insurance Agency, which he owned and operated for 35 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

He was a member of General James Chambers Lodge 801 F & AM, BPO Elks Lodge 600, Chambersburg Club, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and Hume, MeNeal Byers AMVETS Post 224, all in Chambersburg; Harry Lockhave Post 517 American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1790, both in Mercersburg; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Valley Forest 145 in Shippensburg, Pa.; South Penn Scottish Rite Club in Greencastle, Pa.; Harrisburg Consistory in Harrisburg, Pa.; Wesley Yeager Post 606 American Legion in Fort Loudon, Pa.; James McKibbin Post 561 American Legion in McConnellsburg; and was a former member of Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Tressler Cutchall, whom he married June 24, 1983; and one sister, Carolyn J. Rowe of Greencastle.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Wava L. Guthrie; and one brother, Gerald L. Cutchall.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. H. Lyle Duffey will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Members of General James Chambers Lodge 801 of F & Am of Chambersburg will conduct a Masonic service Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edna M. Wetzel

Edna Mae "Peachie" Wetzel, 77, formerly of 19622 Old Forge Road, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Colton Villa Nursing Center.

Born July 23, 1923, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Sadie Josephine Rogers Wetzel.

She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth McManus of Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Wetzel, Leola Domer and Catherine Guessford; and three brothers, Paul Wetzel, Raymond Wetzel and Russell Wetzel.
