Heroin discovered in Greene Township

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A traffic stop last month in Greene Township resulted in three teenagers facing heroin trafficking charges, according to a Pennsylvania State Police report released Tuesday.

Police said a car was stopped for a traffic violation shortly after midnight on Aug. 25 on U.S. 11 near the Siloam Road intersection. The occupants consented to a search of the vehicle, which turned up six packets of suspected heroin, the report alleged.

A search warrant was then obtained and police discovered 19 packets of heroin in the car, authorities alleged.

Ronald Eugene Keefer Jr., 19, of Chambersburg, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the criminal complaint at District Justice Larry Meminger's office.

Charged with criminal conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver were Melissa Lynn Howard, 18, and Kathryn A. Coykendall, 19, both of Chambersburg. They also were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
