Friday's Roundup - Morgan's assists lead Hubs



* PREP VOLLEYBALL


Nicole Morgan had 24 assists as No. 7 North Hagerstown defeated Boonsboro 15-7, 15-5, 15-7 in an MVAL contest Thursday.

Casey Breslin had nine kills, Michelle Levin had 13 digs and Katie Stamper had eight kills for the Hubs (1-2).

Kelly Baldwin had six kills, Heather Napoli had six service points and Meg Sholty added seven digs for Boonsboro, which defeated Walkersville in three games Tuesday.

Smithsburg 3, Catoctin 0

SMITHSBURG - Michelle Feiser led the No. 2 Leopards (3-0) with seven kills, while Jolee Warrenfeltz had eight service points and five aces and B.J. Greenwood had 11 service points. JV: Smithsburg, 2-0.

Williamsport 3, Clear Spring 0

CLEAR SPRING - Danielle Munson had five kills as the Wildcats defeated Clear Spring 15-2, 15-4, 15-7. Kristine Porac had 12 assists and 12 service points for No. 4 Williamsport (3-0). Ariann Rowe had five service points for Clear Spring (0-2), while Megan Springer had five kills and Tara Myers had five assists. JV: Williamsport, 2-0.

TJ 3, Liberty 1

FREDERICK, Md. - Emily Hauver led No. 9 Thomas Johnson (3-0) with 11 kills, eight digs and six service points in a 15-12, 15-9, 14-16, 15-2 victory. Alison Conway added 16 service points, while Ashley Cregger had ten blocks and five kills. Erin Maldo had nine blocks and seven kills, while Alison Koski had 14 assists and 13 service points. JV: TJ, 3-0.

Everett 2, Southern Fulton 1

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Brittney Mellott had five kills and Kelly True had four kills and three blocks for Southern Fulton in a 15-6, 11-15, 15-10 loss. Crystal Straight had eight service points for Southern Fulton (2-4). JV: Southern Fulton, 2-0.

Greencastle 2, Northern 1

DILLSBURG, Pa. - Erin Berger had 12 service points, four aces, four kills and seven digs as No. 6 Greencastle-Antrim stayed undefeated with a tough 11-15, 16-14, 15-13 victory over Northern. Tonia Petersheim had 10 kills and six digs, Amy Eshleman had 14 digs, Megan Beam had seven kills, eight blocks and eight digs and Tamyra Toth added seven service points and eight digs for the Blue Devils (3-0).

Martinsburg 3, Musselman 0

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Amanda LeMaster had 14 service points, four aces and eight kills to lead the Bulldogs over Musselman, 15-3, 15-7, 15-6. Lyndsay Horst had eight service points, while Stephanie Leonrad had seven service points and three aces for Martinsburg (4-3).

Highland View 3, Broadfording 0

Monica Jackson had 12 service points, including nine in a row in the first game, as Broadfording defeated Highland View 15-3, 15-11, 15-13. Stephanie Peden added 12 service points, including four aces, while Amber Morrison had six kills, six digs and eight service points for Broadfording.

Lara Musante had 10 assists and Laurelle Byrd added six kills. Vanessa Ruffin had six kills and Sarah Goggin added four kills for Highland View Academy (1-2). Beth Snyder had three aces for the Tartans.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Clinton Weivell scored eight minutes into the first overtime as Gettysburg defeated Waynesboro. Sean Kipe scored on a penalty kick and Zach Tanner added a goal on an assist from Phil Woodringfort Waynesboro (2-4).

Highland View 8, Broadfording 0

Stephen Byrkit scored three goals, all in the first half, for Highland View. Fabrico Kos scored twice, while Dwight Wise, Andrew Williams and Eduardo Bollati all added second-half goals and Bollati had two assists.

Cumb. Valley 4, Chambersburg 0

NEW KINGSTOWN, Pa. - Cumberland Valley outshot No. 2 Chambersburg (5-2) 26-4 in a Mid Penn Keystone game.

J. Buchanan 4, Susquehanna 1

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Matt Miller scored two goals, Shea Stouffer and Ellis Beddard each scored a goal and had an assist, and Pablo Trujillo added an assist as James Buchanan improved to 2-5.

Jefferson 0, Hedgesville 0

SHENENDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Hedgesville's game at Jefferson was called a tie after 53 minutes due to lightning.

Brunswick 44, Williamsport 20: Delvon Brown rushed for three touchdowns for the Wildcats.

South 20, North 0: Jamel Smith had a 90-yard run and a 1-yard touchdown run. Matt Reichert scored on an 8-yard run and Mike Moyseenko passed for a 54-yard touchdown to Ben Mertz. Terry Jackson led the Rebel defense with 12 tackles.

Brunswick 38, Williamsport 8: Dustin Bachtell scored on a 1-yard run and hit Charlie Kline with a pass on the two-point conversion for Williamsport.

SALISBURY, Md. - Williamsport graduate Matt Bowman scored three goals, while North Hagerstown grad John Muto added two assists for Salisbury State (3-1).
