Anne E. Lunsford

LUTHER GLEN, Va. - Anne E. Lunsford, 78, of 3587 Jericho Road, and formerly of 416 Deborah Court, Chambersburg, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at the home of her daughter.

Born June 22, 1922, in San Bonito, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Mary M. Hirsch Engel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Lunsford III, in 1982.

She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by two daughters, Annette M. Wisniewski of Luther Glen and Julianna M. Sadowski of Frederick, Md.; three sons, Robert C. Lunsford IV of Chambersburg, John A. Lunsford of Gaithersburg, Md. and Marc J. Lunsford of Newville, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave. in Hagerstown. Monsignor Edward W. Manalis will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Flintstone, Md.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St in Hagerstown.




Ada M. Friese

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ada M. Friese, 89, of Shook Home, and formerly of 12469 Polktown Road, Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at Shook Home.

Born March 4, 1911, in Ringgold, she was the daughter of the late Horatio and Naomi Marie Brechbill Coyle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. Friese, in 1993. They were married Oct. 15, 1930.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Waynesboro.

She is survived by two daughters, Delores Gladys Reid of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Joretta C. Monn of Chambersburg; three sons, Richard Melvin Friese of San Angelo, Texas, Jerry Tim Friese of Clemens, Md. and David H. Friese of Greencastle, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 385 S. Ridge Ave. in Greencastle. The Rev. Joseph L. Stahura will be celebrant. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.

Visitation will be Friday at 9 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. in Greencastle.




Mary A. Lyons

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Mary A. Hilton Lyons, 78, of 77 Chadwick Drive, and formerly of Mount Airy, Md., died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born July 7, 1922, in Damascus, Md., she was the daughter of the late George Earl and Stella Virginia Mullininix Hilton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances Patrick Lyons, in 1972.

She retired as a real estate agent in Mount Airy.

She was a member of Unitarian Church in Hagerstown.

She attended Greencastle Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Lyons of Catonsville, Md. and Richard Lyons of California; a brother, Robert Hilton of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

A memorial service will be today at 1 p.m. at Greencastle Senior Center, 10615 Antrim Church Road in Greencastle.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Howard Chapel in Poplar Springs, Md.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to Greencastle Senior Citizens Center, 10615 Antrim Church Road, Greencastle, PA 17225; or Unitarian Universalist Church, 13245 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Michael L. Ray

ARLINGTON, Texas - Michael L. Ray, 48, of 2725 W. Division St. and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Arlington Memorial Hospital.

Born May 31, 1952, in Havre De Grace, Md., he was the son of the late Stanley Lee Ray Jr. and Myrtle Estelle Gaunt Ray.

He was employed as a chef by T.G.I. Fridays in Arlington.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by a son, Bryan M. James of Arlington; and a brother, Dennis L. Ray of Joppa, Md.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St. in Hagerstown.




Mary S. Brehman

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mary S. Brehman, of the nursing center at Penn Hall Nursing Home, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born in Marion, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Merle Edward and Carrie Dosch Shatzer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Brehman.

She was employed as an administrative assistant by the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lemoyne, Pa.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Steadfast Chapter 479 of Camp Hill, Pa.; and Lemoyne Senior Citizens Center.
