Three-year-old boy dies after being hit by car in Pa.



GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A 3-year-old Greencastle boy died from injuries Thursday after being struck by a car just before 4 p.m. along U.S. 11 about one-tenth of a mile south of Persinger Road in Antrim Township, Franklin County.

Pennsylvania State Police reported Kody Shockey, of Greencastle, was struck by a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Stephanie Stoey, no age available, also of Greencastle.

The accident occurred when the car was traveling north on U.S. 11, state police said. Police said the child attempted to cross the roadway from the east and was hit by the Grand Am.

Police said the impact of the collision threw the child about 20 feet and he came to rest on the east berm of the roadway.

The boy was taken to Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, where he was pronounced dead at 4:52 p.m. Thursday.
