Patsy D. Maloy

Patsy Delores Maloy, 69, of Clearview Nursing Home, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born Sept. 25, 1930, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Russell Coss and Frances Elizabeth Straley Zeigler.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra A. Smith of Fairplay; five sons, James E. Maloy Jr. and Richard Lee Maloy, both of Hagerstown, Ronald E. Malloy of Funkstown, Merle R. Maloy of Boonsboro and Donald W. Maloy of North Carolina; a foster daughter, Debra Greene of Smithsburg; a brother, Robert Zeigler of Mercersburg, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Roberta Zeigler, Betty Jane Draper and Wanda Fay Sauders; and one son, Robert E. Maloy.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Tim Lester will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742, to aid the family with funeral expenses.




William J. Rosenberger Sr.

ST. THOMAS, Pa. - William J. "Bill" Rosenberger Sr., 74, of 5270 Race Track Road, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Manorcare Health Services.

Born July 23, 1926, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry J. and Clara Brechbill Rosenberger.

He retired in April 1997 from L.E.A.D. after more than 14 years.

He was a member of Open Door Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Long Rosenberger; two daughters, Audrey Marie Rosenberger of Fort Loudon, Pa., and Susan J. Rosenberger of Kauffman, Pa.; a son, William J. Rosenberger Jr. of St. Thomas; two brothers, Thomas Rosenberger of Carlisle, Pa., and Herbert Rosenberger of Shady Grove, Pa.; and a sister, Jo-Ann Meyers of Hanover, Pa.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave. The Revs. Richard Stoey and Arthur E. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gertrude M. Sacchet

Gertrude M. Sacchet, 83, of 13319 Briarcliff Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 7, 1917, in the Canal Zone, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. and Anna Lynam McDonald.

Her husband, Dr. Hugo A. Sacchet, died in 1997.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph College, Emmitsburg, Md.

She taught school in Baltimore City for six years; and at St. Maria Goretti High School in Hagerstown for four years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, was on the Parish Council; and was organist for both St. Anne and St. Mary's Catholic churches.

She was a member of Washington County Right to Life; Woodland Garden Club; and Women's Auxiliary at Washington County Hospital.

She is survived by three daughters, Anne T. Payne of Calgary, Canada; Susan M. Maasberg of Travers City, Mich., and Mary S. Gray of Lexington, Ky.; a son, Joseph P. Sacchet of Hagerstown; two brothers, John McDonald of Sanford, N.C., and Thomas McDonald of Alexandria, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. George Limmer and Monsignor Robert S. Passarelli will be celebrants. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Prayers will be offered at 5:45 p.m.




Gladys L. Barr

Gladys Leona "Shorty" Barr, 87, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Oct. 27, 1912, in Buffalo Mills, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Florence Daymude House.

Her husband, Charles L. Barr, died in 1984.

She was previously employed by Hagerstown Shoe Co. and the Byron Shoe Co.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Patrick Barr of Hagerstown, and Edgar L. Barr of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three half-sisters, Flo Stottlemyer and Phyllis Nolan, both of Hagerstown, and Catherine Miller of Seattle; three half-brothers, Conrad Ahalt, Jack Ahalt and William Ahalt, all of Hagerstown; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Henry Barr; and a half-brother, James Ahalt.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Shane Wilt will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Connie J. Miller

Connie J. Welsh Miller, 55, of 11400 Stonecroft Court, Apt. 2, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
