Boonsboro students asked to avoid driving to school

Boonsboro High School students might want to think twice about driving to school during the first two weeks of the new school year, according to Donna Messina, the Washington County Board of Education's community relations specialist.

Renovations to expand the parking lot aren't expected to be completed until Friday, Sept. 8, which means parking will be tight until the project is finished.

"We could have major parking problems," Messina said.

Instead, the School Board is encouraging students to ride the bus to school.

Sixty new parking spots are being added to the parking lot.
