You are welcome to leave a recorded message on any subject, but some calls will be screened out.

Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"A lady said she kept the bees out of her hummingbird feeders by putting Wesson oil around it. When she goes to clean up that sticky stuff, what does she use to clean it up?"

"I have a charcoal gray male kitten, I already have a cat and I can't keep another one. He has all of his shots, it is free to a good home. He is healthy and very sweet. Call 301-739-4361 if you are interested in taking him."

"I was reading about someone wondering where the police are on Halfway Boulevard. Well, it is not only Halfway Boulevard, it is on Sharpsburg Pike, the Downsville Pike, it is 50 mph and everyone is doing 60 and 65 mph. You can't pull on the side of the road, the cars are on you. The drivers are yelling at you, giving you hand gestures because you are going too slow. Something needs to be done, before someone gets killed."

"I want to wish my baby sister Crystal a happy second birthday on Aug. 21. Love Michael."

"I am calling in response for the lady who worked at E.J. Fennel. I have an address: ILGWU National Retirement Fund, 275 7th Avenue, 11th floor, New York, NY, 10001-6708."

"Just a question. Who pays for the County Commissioners' Ocean City convention? Why do they have to go? It is the tax dollars that pay for it."

"Are there any charities in Hagerstown that you can donate stuff to? Does anyone have a list of them?"

"In response to a call about the 24-hour day care, stating that it was none of our concern, that she was just asking if there was a 24-hour day care. Like the other person said, there is a 24-hour day care, it is called being a parent, whether you work or not, it doesn't make a difference. You need to grow up and smell the roses."

"I want to know if there is a 24-hour pharmacy in Hagerstown or anywhere else in Washington County?"

"When it comes to Al Gore, I only have one word, Boring."

"I would like to inform the people of the new Crestview development that they will be getting information on the block party soon. It will be hand delivered, as we don't want any uninvited guests from the other development."

"I would like to know if the city has stopped cleaning the streets? They need it badly, especially along the curbs."

"I was wondering, I read where it said not to call Mail Call asking someone to buy something or to sell something. How else are we supposed to connect to people and ask these things, besides call into the classified, which a lot of people really don't have the money to do."
