West End L.L. Banquet

The West End Little League Banquet is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Elks Club on Ravenwood Drive. Tickets can be purchased today or Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Little League Park.

Thurman Smith Minor League Tournament

South Mountain 15, Valley 14: Justin Ellsworth had four hits to propel South Mountain to the tournament crown. Aaron Twigg and Hank Henlin added two hits for the winners, while Mark Yates had three hits for Valley.

Thomas Evans 'B-Team' Tournament

Valley 6, Federal 3: Kevin Tyler threw a two-hitter and Derrick Quillen had two hits to lead Valley.

Halfway 13, National 3: Coty Grove homered twice and T.J. Wallech had two hits to lead Halfway. Justin Higgins, Derek Hendershot and Corey Farris had two hits in a losing cause.


South Mountain 5, Maugansville 2: Zach Shiffler threw a four-hitter and Allen Beard had three hits for South Mountain. Matt McCauley homered for Maugansville.

National 11, American 5: Jeremy Gross struck out 10 and Derek Hendershot had four hits to lead National. Gross and Sean Martz had three hits and Shane Crabtree homered. Jarrell Rodriquez and Chuck Rouzee had two hits for American.

Thomas Evans 'A-Team' Tournament

South Mountain 7, Halfway 6: Aaron Dixon and Brian Toms had three hits and Jeremiah Mills and Brandon Rohrer had two hits to lead South Mountain. Jimmy Sutch had two hits, including a homer, and Matt Stevens had two hits for Halfway.


Hagerstown Area Church

Church of the Nazarene 13, Williamsport Assembly of God 12: Justin Gearhart went 5-for-5 and Bryan Mehalko had four hits to lead Nazarene. Ned Householder and Brian Shuhart each added three hits.

Maranatha/Virginia Avenue Church of God 11, Christ Reform/St. James Bretheran 10: Jason Gladhill, Frankie Scurry, Bobby Hays and Cliff Miles had three hits to lead Maranatha.

Maranatha 22, Williamsport Assembly of God 10: Michael Pickeral had six hits and Ray Scadden and Smiley Jackson had five hits to lead Maranatha. Jason Gladhill and Cliff Miles had four hits.

Hub City/Pinesburg

Freddie's 16, Firestone 5: John Mobley and Ken McAllister had three hits to lead Freddie's. Todd Harmon, Todd Mobley and Robert Winston each added two hits.

Joe Corbi's Thunder 14, Craig's Paving 12: Tracey Cain and Tommy McClintock each had three hits, including a home run. Phil Unger had three hits and Rick Schriever homered for Joe Corbi's.

O'Neill Physical Therapy/Crazy Horse 19, Eddie's Detail Shop 9: Chris Custer went 5-for-5 to lead O'Neill/Crazy Horse. Dwayne Curry and Doug Keller each had four hits, while Jeff Foltz, Ronnie Brown, Denny Wallech, Steve Barrett and Stan Shoop each had three for O'Neill.
