Vandals break school's windows

BOONSBORO - With just two weeks to go before the start of the school year, staff at Boonsboro High School will have to add window repairs to their list of preparations.
Washington County Sheriff's deputies said vandals smashed 14 windows at the school building at 10 Campus Avenue, sometime late Friday evening.
A press release from the sheriff's department did not indicate what section of the building was targeted.
Deputies on-duty Sunday did not have further details.
Donna Messina, Community Relations Specialist for the Washington County Board of Education said she doesn't expect the vandalism to delay the Aug. 28 start of school. Nothing inside the building was damaged and there was no evidence anyone entered the building, she said.
Messina said grounds staff believed some used a blunt object like a bat to "strike the window and then kept on going."
