The Lloyds

Mr. and Mrs. James Lloyd were honored with a surprise 50th wedding anniversary celebration Saturday, July 1, 2000, in the conference room of Potomac Park Camp and Conference Center in Falling Waters, W.Va., hosted by their children, the Rev. James Lloyd II, Kenneth Lloyd and Ruth Murray, all of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Terry Lloyd of Marlowe, W.Va.

Their oldest son, the Rev. James Lloyd II, officiated renewal of their vows. The bride's father, the Rev. James L. Pittman, performed their wedding ceremony July 4, 1950, in Pentecostal Church in Hedgesville, W.Va.

Mrs. Lloyd is the former Anna Pittman of Hedgesville. She was employed by Perfection Garment Co. in Martinsburg, then became a full-time homemaker.


Mr. Lloyd is originally from Brunswick, Md. He was employed by B&O freight office in Washington, D.C., prior to entering the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from E.I. DuPont in Falling Waters in 1983.

The Lloyds have eight grandchildren.

The Gavers

Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Gaver of Myersville, Md. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 17.

They were married in Hagerstown with the late Rev. Albert Snyder officiating. Mrs. Gaver is the former Betty Harshman of Middlepoint, Md.

A buffet dinner was held in their honor at the Ostertag Farm in Myersville with family and friends. The couple's three children and their families hosted the event: Daniel Gaver and his wife, Julie, of Myersville; Sharon Rice and her husband, Warren, of Thurmont, Md.; and Pamela Neder and her husband, Rick, of Westernport, Md..

The Gavers have six grandchildren.

The Komarinskis

Deacon Andrew and Dorothy J. Komarinski celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, July 15, 2000.

They renewed their wedding vows at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Williamsport. The Rev. Alfred E. Smith officiated.

A reception followed at Elk's banquet room on Robinwood Drive, with dinner and dancing for family and friends.

The Komarinskis were married July 15, 1950, at St. Demetrius Greek Catholic Church in Jeannette, Pa., officiated by the late Rev. Ignatius Halushka.

Mrs. Komarinski is the daughter of the late William and Bertha Wahl of Jeannette, Pa. She retired from Washington County Department of Social Services.

Deacon Komarinski is the son of the late Frank and Anna Komarinski of Greensburg, Pa. He is an ordained permanent Deacon at St. Augustine's Catholic Church. He retired from Mack Trucks Inc.

The Sayers

Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Sayers observed their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, June 1, 2000, with a celebration for family and friends at the home of their daughter, Susan Cianelli of Hagerstown. They are also parents of Peggy Mitchell of Colorado.

The Sayers have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
