Mail Call for 8/11

"I would like to know what happened to the Wilson Monument on Wilson Boulevard? I came by there and I seen it knocked over and I looked in the paper, but I didn't see anything about it. If you could explain it or have an article in the paper, that would be fine."

"All I have to say is thanks for Caller ID. When I look at my phone and I see Unavailable, Caller Unknown, Number Unknown or Out Of Area, it is nothing but telemarketers. I just don't answer it, so they are just wasting their time. If they don't want me to know who they are, I don't want them to know who I am. I wish they would just stop calling."

"I was wondering if anyone had any cat carrying cases for a rabbit or if they know where they are sold cheap."

"I am still looking for the Maltese white dog, his name is kitty. There was one at the SPCA, but that was not our dog. Our children are still upset. Whoever has him, can you sleep at night? Please the children really need him back. We live at 331 Central Avenue, so please return him."

"I think the county deserves more than a slap on the wrist for the mess they created on Rt. 40 where they are doing the new county dump. Not only have they made it dangerous for the people who are driving, but they have made it difficult for the people who live along there for them to get in and out of their driveway. They will be lucky if someone doesn't get hurt and they don't end up with a lawsuit."

"Someone was wondering what to do to keep the bees away from your hummingbird feeders. I read in mail call last year that you dip your finger in some Wesson oil and rub it all over the rim where the bees are and that worked for a while, but today I had over 15 bees around it. I took spray Pam and sprayed all around it and the bees disappeared. So maybe this will help that person."

"I would like to wish my son Donald Wellman a happy 21 birthday which will be Aug. 12. Love you son, love mom."

"I need to know how to get old pet stains out of carpets. I tried resolve and other things, but it seems to keep coming back. Please call mail call with your suggestions, I would appreciate it."

"For those of you throwing your end of summer and Labor Day parties, I heard that the Musicians Union can recommend the best local bands. You really can't go wrong, their phone number is 301-791-1551."

"A floor mat with Bill and Hillary's picture on it, please leave a phone number in mail call, so I can place an order. It is only Bill that we should be ashamed of."

"I am calling to thank the kids that washed my car at Firestone. They done a fabulous job, they wiped my car off. I never had my car washed like that. It was behind Firestone and I think it was the Clear Spring School or Band. These kids took their time, they had supervisor's there, for a donation. They done a job better than what a car wash would do. They wiped the bumpers off and they done the mirrors. I tell you, I know these kids, they were very good car washers. If I go to them, I would give them a double donation. Thank you, you done a nice job."

"To the person who is looking for cool tie scarf, they can be purchased at ABC Supply Company, 801 Pope Avenue. They come in different colors, hope you can find them."

"To the person who wanted to call or locate someone selling cool tie, call Dale at 301-790-4042, leave a message."

"I wanted to thank a very special lady named Pat who lives on Maugans Avenue. My 86 year old mother and I met Pat for the first time on Wednesday during a shopping trip to the Bon-Ton. Mom was experiencing one of her severe coughing attacks as Pat was approaching us in the store. As mom was making her way to a chair in the shoe department, Pat asked mom if she was all right and if there was anything she could do to help. I told her she would be fine that she just needed a drink of water. Minutes later Pat returned with a cup of water, she stayed and visited with us while mom sipped water and recovered from her coughing spell. Pat you are truly a compassionate and caring individual whose concern and sincerity touched our lives in such a positive way. May your life always be richly blessed with good health and happiness."
