Marl A. Hollinshead Jr.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Marl A. Hollinshead Jr., 42, of Chambersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at his home.

Born Aug. 14, 1957, in Tennessee, he was the son of the late Marl and Wilma Jean Hollinshead Sr.

He worked as a delivery truck driver for Weis Brothers in Hagerstown.

He is survived by a daughter, Molly Jill Hollinshead of St. Thomas, Pa.; and four sisters, Eva Dotson, Sheila Rye, Leslie Powers and Marla Nalls, all of Tennessee.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Harrisonville, Pa. The Rev. Harold Yeager will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, St. Thomas.

Mildred E. Brown

AMBERSON, Pa. - Services for Mildred E. "Mid" Brown, 85, of 19113 Amberson Road, who died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Laurel Grove United Methodist Church, Amberson Road, Spring Run, Pa. The Rev. William R. Bair will officiate. Burial will be in Amberson Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, Pa., and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Helen E. Repp

Helen E. Repp, 83, of Landis Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pa.

Born July 3, 1917, in Welsh Run, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James G. and Jessie Angle Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement B. Repp.

She was a homemaker.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Derr of Robesonia, Pa., whom she was visiting when she became ill, Sandra Harbaugh and Doris Barton, both of Hagerstown and Connie Shalters of Bernville, Pa.; a son, James Repp of Hagerstown; a brother, James Miller of Mercersburg, Pa.; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at noon at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave. in Mercersburg. The Rev. Milton W. Benny Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Welsh Run Brethren Cemetery in Welsh Run, Pa.

Visitation will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Virgil B. Hershman

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Virgil B. Hershman, 89, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Care Haven of Berkeley in Martinsburg.

Born Aug. 5, 1911, in Belington, W.Va., he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Emma Moore Hershman.

He retired as a carpenter for the Coast Guard.

He was a member of Westview Baptist Church.

He was a member of Woodmen of the World.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Pearl Wagner Hershman; and a foster brother, Jack Davis of Roseville, Calif.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Johnny Kelley will officiate. Burial will be in Tacy Crossroads Cemetery in Philippi, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home; and Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Stemple and Forman Funeral Home, 385 S. Main St. in Philippi.

Memorial donations may be made to Westview Baptist Church Building Fund, 301 S. Louisiana Ave., Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Ethel V. Eversole

HANCOCK - Ethel Virginia Eversole, 75, of Hancock, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Western Maryland Medical Center in Hagerstown.

Born April 8, 1925, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late James Raleigh and Mary Magdeline Coffman Myers.

She was a 1943 graduate of Hancock High School.

She retired in January 1989, after 43 years of service as a saleswoman with G.C. Murphy Store in Hancock.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lee Ruppenthal of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Lisa Gaye Mosier of Hancock and Chad Everett Davis of Williamsport; two great-grandchildren; a nephew; and a great-niece.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Catherine McIntyre; and a brother, James Edward Myers.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St. in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Hancock.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open today at 2 p.m., for the convenience of friends.

Charles L. Long

RICHMOND, Mass. - Charles L. "Butch" Long, 51, of West Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.

Born Jan. 19, 1949, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Pearl Hines Long of Hagerstown and the late Charles L. Long Jr.

He worked in construction for many years; and later worked as a trainer of race horses in Maryland and West Virginia. Later, he was employed by the Bednarski family of Richmond, as a caretaker and horse trainer of their Richmond estate until the time of his death.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Wesley Long of Boonsboro; four sisters, Nancy Wolfe, Sandra Voleneck and Carolyn White, all of Hagerstown and Annie Long of Williamsport.
