Suns win fourth straight



FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Hagerstown Suns collected a season-high eight hits in the fifth inning while scoring seven runs en route to their fourth straight win, an 11-3 victory over the Cape Fear Crocs Sunday in South Atlantic League Northern Division action.

Shawn Fagan, Alvin Morrow and Kurt Keene had RBI singles in the fifth and Jimmy Alvarez delivered a two-run double and Jamie Goudie added an RBI double for Hagerstown (52-60 overall, 18-24 in the second half).

Brandon Jackson singled in the first inning to extend his hit streak to 16 games. Jackson finished with three hits. Keene had four hits and three RBI. Goudie and Alvarez added two hits apiece.

Juan Santos, appearing in his first game as a Sun, homered in the seventh inning.

Marc Bluma (2-1) picked up the win, throwing three scoreless innings in relief of Peter Bauer.

Hagerstown scored two runs in the first inning on an error on Cape Fear's second baseman.

Cape Fear responded with one run in the third and two in the fourth off Bauer.

Hagerstown closes its roadtrip today, making its final appearance at J.P. Riddle Stadium. The Crocs are moving to Lakewood, N.J. next year.
