Margaret P. Myers

SHENENADOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Margaret Polhamus Myers, 86, of Shenandoah Junction, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at her home.

Born March 8, 1914, in Berryville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clinton M. and Sarah D. Polhamus.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel W. Hendricks Sr., and her second husband, John Clive "Happy" Myers.

She was a graduate of Clarke County High School in Berryville and attended Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

She retired as a clerk from the U.S. Postal Service in Shenandoah Junction. Earlier, she owned a grocery store in Shenandoah Junction for many years.

She was a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church in Shenandoah Junction, where she had been the organist.

She is survived by three daughters, Suzanne M. Ramsey of Alisa Viejo, Calif., Sara H. Potter of Los Angeles and Mary Ellen Pastor of Glendora, Calif.; a son, Daniel W. Hendricks of Shenandoah Junction; three sisters, Alice P. Link of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mary P. Bonner of Rockville, Md., and Katherine P. Rudolph of Falling Waters, W.Va.; a brother, Thomas S. Polhamus of Berryville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas C. Polhamus of San Antonio.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church in Shenandoah Junction. The Rev. Sandra Slazer will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Shepherdstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town, W.Va.

Blanche I. Bomberger

BOONSBORO - Blanche Irene Bomberger, 90, a resident of Reeders Memorial Home and formerly of Hollywood Road, Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Reeders.

Born Dec. 17, 1909, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Roy William Gower and the late Anna Mae Hemphill Gower Eyler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul William Bomberger, in 1977.

She was a homemaker.

She was a 1929 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She was a member of St. James Brethren Church, where she was a member of Men's and Women's Sunday School class.

She is survived by a daughter, Lindin I. Easterday of Hagerstown; two half sisters, Bernice M. Lindemann of Monrovia, Calif., and Dorothy M. Harr of Williamsport.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Kuhn, Ruby Seymour and Grace Gower; two brothers, Emrine Gower and R. Willis Gower; and a half brother, William H. Eyler Jr.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. James Brethren Church. The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport, which will open at 9 a.m. for the convenience of friends.

Rhoda M. Cunningham

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Rhoda M. Cunningham, 86, of 67 North Ave., died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at her home.

Born Feb. 28, 1914, near East Berlin, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James G. and Mary Ellen Bosserman Markey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Harold Cunningham, in 1972.

She was a 1932 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a 1936 graduate of Wilson College in Chambersburg.

She was a homemaker. Earlier, she worked as a librarian in the Philadelphia area.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellen C. Hubner of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Ann C. Sylvester of Chambersburg; a son, John H. Cunningham of Chambersburg; a granddaughter; and three grandsons.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Markey, Mary Wolfe and Wilma Markey.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Pearl R. Jones

WILLIAMSPORT - Pearl Roberta Jones, 63, of 12 S. Conococheague St., died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 13, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Walter Lloyd and Mary Avis Stonesifer Trumpower.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, William Lester Jones, in 1991.

She attended Hagerstown High School.

She was employed by Londontown in Boonsboro.

She was a Baptist.
