Man dies in I-70 wreck

CLEAR SPRING - A Connecticut man died and his passenger was injured after he allegedly lost control of his car east on Interstate 70 Sunday morning, Maryland State Police said.

Jason Foster Wilson, 23, of Bridgeport, Conn. was pronounced dead at the Washington County Hospital.

His passenger, Jeffrey Jerome Foulks Jr., 23, of Frederick, Md. was initially taken to the Washington County Hospital and later transferred to the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa. He was listed in critical condition Sunday evening, a supervisor said.

Police said they were unsure why Wilson lost control of his 1999 Mitsubishi sedan on I-70 east of Ashton Road in Clear Spring.

When police arrived they found Wilson had driven his car into a tree at 6:10 a.m. and was ejected.

Foulks was trapped in the car and had to be extricated by rescue personnel, police said.

Police are continuing their investigation of the accident.
