Helen L. Gecht

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen L. Saylor Erbe Gecht, 73, a resident of Menno-Haven Nursing Home, 2075 Scotland Ave., died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1926, in Berlin, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward G. Saylor and Eleanor L. Ball Saylor Miley.

She was a 1944 graduate of Berlin Brother's Valley High School in Berlin. She completed training as a registered nurse in 1944 with Cadet Nursing Corp. in Pittsburgh.

She worked in patient care as a nurse in facilities in Philadelphia, Lancaster, Calif. and Chambersburg, Pa. She also was the director of nursing at Piney Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville, Pa. and was the county nurse in Somerset, Pa. In addition to institutional nursing, she worked in physicians' offices prior to retiring from her nursing career in 1978.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, where she was a member of Church Women's Group.

She was a member of National AARP.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia L. Gecht of Chambersburg; two brothers, Carl E. Saylor of Lancaster, Calif. and Kenneth E. Saylor of Manassas, Va.; a granddaughter; two step-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy E. Custer.

A memorial service will be Sunday, Aug. 6, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 26 Commerce St. in Chambersburg. The Rev. Neal O. Hively will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Berlin, Pa.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro, Pa.

Skylar N. Miley

HANCOCK - Skylar Nicole Miley, infant daughter of Misty Miley of Fleming Trailer Court and Terry L. Yost Jr. of Hagerstown, died Friday July 28, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

She was born July 28, 2000, in Hagerstown.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Brianna Miley, at home; maternal grandparents, Terry L. and Kathy Miley of Hancock; paternal grandparents, Terry Lee Yost Sr. of Clear Spring and Deborah Burton of Hagerstown; paternal step-grandfather, Ronald R. Howlet of Hagerstown; and maternal great-grandmother, Jackie Divelbliss of Hancock.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Mount Olivet Presbyterian Cemetery, Exline Road in Hancock. Bishop Gerald Hendershot will officiate.

Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.

Lillian E. Storck

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lillian "Fay" Eyerly Storck, 68, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at her home.

Born Nov. 30, 1931, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Gregory Eyerly.

She was formerly employed by B&O Railroad in Baltimore.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles J. Storck Sr., at home; a daughter, Ruth Fay Storck of Waldorf, Md.; three sons, Charles J. Storck Jr., Lawrence B. Storck and Mark Leroy Storck, all of Baltimore; a brother, William Donald Eyerly of Punta Gorda, Fla.; five grandchildren; and aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother.

The family will receive friends today and Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Aug. 12, in Baltimore.

Burial will be private.

Howard B. Michael

NEW MARKET, Va. - Howard Benton "Beanie" Michael, 78, of 9138 N. Congress St. and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center Nursing Home.

Born July 16, 1922, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clifton B. and Minnie Unger Michael.

He worked for Blake Co. in Halfway until his retirement in 1984. From 1984 to 1988, he worked for Lee Builders of Halfway. Then, he worked for Martin and Seibert in maintenance.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.

He was a member of Inwood United Methodist Church.

He was past commander and member of Alderton Dawson Post 60 American Legion in Berkeley Springs; past president and member of the Dunn Loring, Va. Volunteer Fire Department; and a member of the Virginia State Firefighters Association.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen Jane Lutman Michael; a daughter, Sandra Lee Blosser of New Market; two sons, Clifton Raymond Michael of Arlington, Va. and Winford Benton Michael of Haymarket, Va.; a brother, Lee Michael of Williamsport; three granddaughters; four grandsons; a step-grandson; 13 great-grandchildren; three nieces and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Douglas Michael; a sister, Pauline I. Spring; and three brothers, Willard Michael, Vernon Michael and Winford Michael.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastor Sheryl Merki, assisted by Rev. John Wright and Rev. C. Bernard Troutman, past chaplain of the Virginia State Firefighters Association, will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, with military graveside services by Tri-State Honor Guard.
