Anniversary Announcements for 7/29

The Halls

Mildred S. "Milly" and Joseph S. "Sam" Hall were honored Friday, June 16, 2000, at a 50th wedding anniversary party in the social hall of Smithsburg Fire Department.

The event was hosted by their children and spouses, Alan and Barbara Hall of Charlotte, N.C., and Bob and Lynda Hall Humphrey of Simpsonville, S.C.

More than 80 friends and family attended the celebration. Several of their grandchildren contributed to the evening's festivities.

The Halls have six grandchildren.

The Harshes

Mr. and Mrs. Beckley Harsh of Williamsport celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary Sunday, July 9, at a luncheon at Firestone Restaurant in Hagerstown.

They were married July 9, 1937, at Ryland Methodist Church in Washington, D.C., by the Rev. Karl G. Newell, longtime friend and former pastor.

A small reception followed the ceremony at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Newell.

The Corsis

James and Doris Corsi celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, April 9, 2000.

They celebrated with family and friends at a dinner party at Nick's Airport Inn Saturday, April 8.

The Corsis have two children, Frank and Dina, and one granddaughter. They are retired and live in Hagerstown.

The Bowards

Debra K. and Rodney "Buzz" Boward Jr. of Downsville were honored Saturday, July 8, 2000, at a 25th wedding anniversary party at South End Fire Hall. The celebration was hosted by their daughter, Christina Obitts; son, Wayne Boward; Mrs. Boward's sister, Denise Minnick; and their mother, Barbara Moats. The event was attended by their four children, their spouses, three grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Boward were married July 4, 1975, at First Christian Church by the Rev. Wilbur Hogevoll, now deceased.
