Mail Call for 7/25

"I see in Friday's paper that the city has OK'd the big tax break as an incentive for the Centre at Hagerstown developer to extend roads and utilities. I don't understand why they would give a tax break to someone and then raise our taxes? It just doesn't make sense."

"I think the person who called about Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, I think they should sit down and be quiet, if they don't know the facts. That is a horrible thing to say about her and put in the paper."

"This is for the person requesting the address where they can donate money for Community Rescue Service. The address where you can donate to is 110 Eastern Boulevard, North, Hagerstown, Md. 21742. Also, if you have questions regarding CRS's subscription drive, you can call the business office during normal business hours at 301-733-1112."

"I would like to know why two police cruisers passed by a family of four with two small children walking along I-70 west in the Hancock area on Friday and failed to stop and ask them if they needed assistance? I think this is ridiculous."

"Has anyone else noticed the hypocrisy from many of the rich people in this country? I am not saying all the rich people but a lot of rich people. Two good examples, Rosie O'Donnell, she believes that nobody should have handguns. But yet, she has her bodyguard go and buy a gun so he can take her kid to school. Must be nice to have that much money, you don't need to protect yourself. Not like the rest of us that don't have a large, well-protected house with bodyguards and lasers, like she does. Hillary Clinton, there is a big one for you. The carpetbagger, she goes to the Million Mom March, which calls for getting rid of handguns, but yet she is surrounded by Secret Service with handguns and Uzi-type weapons. It is easy to say that nobody needs to protect themselves when you have the money to pay others to protect you. Not all of us have that luxury. Put the blame where the blame goes. How shallow can you people be?"

"My friends and I attended the Country Talent Show at the Williamsport Red Men and were very disappointed. They had some very good talent but they need to get new judges. They had a full house and we all think that the judges could have done a better job. If they can't, they should have let the audience pick."

"I read in Saturday's paper about the man being charged with second-degree assault for attacking the black child. That is not second-degree assault, that is a hate crime. Maryland has laws against hate crimes, as well as federal laws against hate crimes. Why aren't the prosecutors using these laws to prosecute people for hate crimes? Why have a law if it is not enforced? That might teach racist people that you can't get away with stuff like that in America. Shame on the prosecutors for not enforcing our laws and you can be pretty sure that if it is a Washington County judge that he will get two years or maybe even probation. "

"This is for the little girl who lost her sunglasses at the yard sale on West Oak Ridge Drive. Please call 301-739-3690. I found them. Please keep the phone ringing. I might be out in the yard."

"Let's give a hat's off to the following people, Tiger Woods for being the greatest golfer and Serena Williams for being the greatest tennis player and for their accomplishments this week."
