Driver dead after crash
A woman died Tuesday morning after her car overturned on Leitersburg Pike and she was thrown from the vehicle, according to Maryland State Police.
Shirley Ann Schroeder, 47, of 13311 B Hunter Hill Drive, Hagerstown, was driving west on Md. 60 when she failed to negotiate a curve near Orchid Drive, police said.
She was alone in the 1995 Toyota Tercel, which crossed the center line and hit a concrete curb and turned over at about 6:45 a.m., according to police.
Schroeder was thrown out the vehicle through the driver's side window. She was not wearing a seat belt or harness, according to police.
