Elywn O. Bowers

Elywn O. Bowers, 88, of 1123 Moller Ave., Hagerstown died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Homewood Retirement Center, Williamsport.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 31, at 1:30 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, Pa. The Rev. Robert C. Lehman will officiate.

Arrangements are by Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Cora E. Pine

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Cora E. "Betty" Pine, 77, of 1550 Palm Spring Drive, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 9, 1923, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Nancy Shives Weller.

Her husband, Max E. Pine, died Dec. 26, 1984.

She was a homemaker.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by a daughter, Catherine S. Hawbaker of Chambersburg; two sons, James S. Pine of Chambersburg and Carl E. Pine of Marion, Pa.; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Chambersburg.

William Dravecz

SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - William Dravecz, 80, of South Mountain, and formerly of Nazareth, Pa., died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at South Mountain Restoration Center.

Born July 8, 1920, in Bethlehem, Pa., he was the son of the late Stephen and Katie Dravecz.

He attended Bethlehem-area schools.

He worked at odd jobs within the Bethlehem area.

He is survived by a sister, Julia Dravecz of Philadelphia; and a niece, Mary Ellen Ehm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of South Mountain Restoration Center. The Rev. Joseph Carolin will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Waynesboro, Pa.

Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the services in the auditorium.

Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Mary V. Bowers

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary V. Smeltzer Bowers, 67, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at City Hospital.

Born Aug. 26, 1932, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late David A. and Beaulah L. Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bowers; and by her first husband, Wade Smeltzer.

She is survived by six sisters, Lottie Crim and Helen Dodson, both of Martinsburg, Barbara McKinze of Hedgesville, W.Va., Ruth Baracos of Manteca, Calif., Phyllis Davis of New Port Richey, Fla., and Carolyn Faircloth of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; a brother David A. Davis Sr. of Findlay, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Ann Radcliff.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Raymond E. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harry S. Jones

BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Harry Samuel "Bowie" Jones, 74, of Chaney Avenue, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Born Nov. 9, 1925, in Bolivar, he was the son of the late Harry Samuel Jones and Mary Twyman Hall Strother.

He retired from Halltown Paperboard Co., Halltown, W.Va.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served in World War II.

He attended Bolivar International Pentecostal Church of Christ.

He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Agnes Twyman; a sister, Natacha Wilson of Ranson; two brothers, Edward Hall and Garry Hall, both of Bolivar.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary McDonald and an infant sister; a brother, Willard Jones and his grandmother.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Camp Hill-Wesley United Methodist Church, 601 Washington St., Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. Douglas Fraim will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry.

Clineley P. Miller Jr.

RICHMOND, Va. - Clineley Percy Miller Jr., 94, formerly of West Franklin Street, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at his home.

He was the son of the late Rose Edmunds and Clineley Percy Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Johnson Miller.

He was employed for 17 years by the Virginia Department of Highways and 11 years by Virginia Auditor of Public Accounts. He joined the Comptroller's Office in April 1953 as an accountant, was named assistant comptroller in 1955 and in 1969 he was appointed acting Comptroller and Acting Director of the Department of Accounts. He retired in 1973 after 48 years.

He was a member of Westgate Lodge 352 A.F.&A.M.

He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Anne Miller Cabell of Norfolk, Va., and Sandra Faye Miller Burtner of Hagerstown; four sisters, Audrey Miller Jordan, Winnie Miller Williamson, Norma Miller Williamson, and Elizabeth Miller Williams, all of Richmond; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
