Anniversary Announcements for 7/22

The Klines

Robert and Reatha Kline celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 10, 2000, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown. The party was hosted by their daughter and her husband, Cathy S. and Douglas Wynkoop and their son and his wife, Robert and Penny Kline.

The Klines were married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church June 16, 1950, by the Rev. Raymond Miller.

Mrs. Kline is the former Reatha Lovell. She retired from Tri-State Printing and Alice's Cottage.

Mr. Kline is mayor of Funkstown and is a retired teacher with Washington County Board of Education.

They have three granddaughters, two grandsons, and two great-grandchildren.

The Durbins

Mr. and Mrs. John H. Durbin of Penn National Golf Course Estates in Fayetteville, Pa. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, July 1, 2000. The celebration was hosted by their three children, Scott Durbin of Fayetteville, Robert Durbin of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. and Linda Webb of Greencastle, Pa., at an open house reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Crawford.

Following the reception, the Durbins were transported by limousine to a private dinner at the Copper Kettle in Chambersburg, Pa.

The Durbins were married July 1, 1950, at First Church of God in Shippensburg, Pa., by the Rev. Manning.

Mrs. Durbin retired in 1985 from United Optical in Hagerstown after 14 years.

Mr. Durbin retired in 1985 from DuPont in Falling Waters, W.Va., after 31 years of service.

They have three grandchildren.

The Reids

Paul and Lorraine Reid of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at the Plaza Hotel in Hagerstown.

The event was hosted by their children and spouses, Rick and Victoria Reid, Ron and Deborah Hoffman, and Scott and Diane Hassler. The Reids renewed their vows with their pastor, Leon Yoder.

The Reids were married Jan. 7, 1950, by the Rev. David Petre, now deceased, at Broadfording Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Reid is the daughter of the late Melvin and Catherine Baer. She is retired from Federal Land Bank and Production Credit.

Mr. Reid is the son of the late J. Richard and Anna Reid. He is president and owner of Reid Insurance Inc. in Hagerstown.

They have two granddaughters and two grandsons.
