Suzanne Gilliotte-Blumenthal

SPRING RUN, Pa. - Suzanne Gilliotte-Blumenthal, 91, a guest of Apron Tree Personal Care Home and formerly of 211 Fifth Ave., Chambersburg, Pa., died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Apron Tree.

She was born Aug. 20, 1908, in Audincourt Doubs, France.

She attended school in Paris, France. She received her Bachelor of Arts Equivalence in Languages and Literature in 1952. She received her Master of Arts Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1956.

She was employed as an educator, holding positions at three major colleges and universities. She was a French instructor at Beaver College in Philadelphia from 1952 to 1956. From 1959 to 1967, she was a teaching fellow, lecturer and associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. From 1967 to 1977, she was an assistant professor of French at Wilson College in Chambersburg; and in 1980, she became an associate professor at Wilson College. After retiring in 1984, she taught part-time at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pa.

She was a member of the Modern Language Association, the American Association of Teachers of French, the National Federation of Modern Language Teachers Association and past president of Alliance Francaise of Cumberland Valley.

She was the 1975 recipient of the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching. She received the Barnes Foundation Fellowship. She was a member of Pi Delta Phi, French National Honor Society. In 1985, she became an Associate Professor Emeritus of French at Wilson College in Chambersburg.

While in Philadelphia, she studied sculpture and woodcarving with Raphael Sabattini and ceramics with Rudi Staeffel. As an artist, her work was presented and exhibited in the United States and abroad.

She is survived by a cousin, Michelle Donzelot Boyer of Vandoeuve, France.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Jane E. Richardson

ANNAPOLIS - Jane Evelyn Wright Richardson, 59, of Annapolis, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Born Jan. 2, 1941, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of William J. Wright Sr. of Minden, Nev., and the late Wilson M. Hudson Wright.

She was a 1963 graduate of Hood College and a 1968 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where she received a masters degree.

She retired in 1985 from Bowie High School, where she taught English for 17 years.

She received the Outstanding Educator Award from Bowie High School in 1978.

She conducted a Shakespeare literature seminar in Heritage Harbor and was a contributing editor to Heritage Harbor Lights Newspaper.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon A. Richardson, whom she married in 1963; a sister, Betty L. Wright of Hagerstown; a brother, William J. Wright Jr. of Hagerstown; three nieces; and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jacob M. Woodward

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jacob Matthew Woodward, infant son of Kristi Marie Woodward of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

He was born July 4, 2000, in Winchester.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his grandparents, Leonard and Regina Lewis of Martinsburg; his great-grandmother, Viola Van Skiver of Cumberland, Md.; and his aunt.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The Rev. Eugene Gossett Jr. will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Stanley A. Wilson

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Stanley A. Wilson, 52, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at his home.

Born April 26, 1948, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Albert Harris and Cascelia Wilson.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a sister, Stephanie M. Wilson of Baltimore, and a niece.

A memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Veterans Affairs Medical Center Chapel.

Burial will be Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at Maryland State Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md.

Deanna L. Hughes

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Deanna Lynn Hughes, 40, of Chambersburg, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.

Born Oct. 14, 1959, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Margaret F. Stanchowski Hughes of Chambersburg and the late Ralph G. Hughes.

She attended Franklin County Vocational-Technical School in Chambersburg.
