Anna Mae Baker

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Anna Mae Orner Baker, 69, of 13154 Mentzer Gap Road, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at her home.

Born July 10, 1930, in Emmitsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Blaine and Mary Wetzel Orner.

She attended school in Beartown, Pa.

She was first employed by Gettysburg Shoe Co. for 26 years. Prior to retiring in 1995, she worked for Regency Printing Co. in Waynesboro as a press operator for 10 years.

She attended Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Baker, whom she marred Feb. 19, 1951; two daughters, Judy A. Punt of Waynesboro and Tawnya L. Engle of Hollywood, Fla.; a sister, Betty Kettoman of Waynesboro; two brothers, Jack Orner and Noris Orner, both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 8 p.m. at her home, 13154 Mentzer Gap Road in Waynesboro.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.

Gladys E. Grooms

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Gladys E. Ebersole Grooms, 66, of 2004 Philadelphia Ave. and formerly of 2868 Anthony Highway, Waynesboro, Pa., died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at her home.

Born Jan. 26, 1934, in Mont Alto, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Ebersole Sr. and Jane Wilson Ebersole.

She attended Mont Alto schools.

She was employed by Piney Mountain Nursing Home in Fayetteville, Pa. in the housekeeping department until her retirement in 1995.

She was a member of Freedom in Christ Church in Green Village, Pa.

She was a member of Women of the Moose 1128 of Chambersburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Dile and Doris Jean Grooms McCardell, both of Chambersburg; seven sisters, Minnie Downin and Beatrice Freeman, both of Quincy, Pa., Susan McCardell of Greencastle, Pa., Betty Smetzer and Dorothy Freeman, both of Waynesboro, Patricia Collins of Hagerstown and Nancy Thomas of North Carolina; three brothers, Robert Ebersole of Shady Grove, Pa., Daniel Ebersole Jr. of Hagerstown and Paul Ebersole of Rouzerville, Pa.; a granddaughter; a grandson; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters; and three brothers.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Freedom in Christ Church, 4240 Sycamore Grove Road in Chambersburg. Pastor George R. Pogue will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Quincy.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro.

John G. Wright

John Gratton Wright, 65, of 325 Liberty St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born March 14, 1935, in Taswell, Va., he was the son of the late Troy and Maggie Kender Wright.

He was employed as an inner mail carrier by the Montgomery County Government.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Wright; four daughters, Donna Wright of Akron, Ohio, Elizabeth M. Sherman of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Ella Mae Wright and Linda Marie Wright, both of Hagerstown; two sons, Roger Lee Wright of Hagerstown and Roy Thomas Trout of Rockledge, Fla.; five sisters, Mamie Hills and Rebecca Williams, both of Taswell, Va., Anne Benton of Baltimore, Ella Johnson of Fort Myers, Fla. and Margaret Wilson of Manasas, Va.; a brother, Ottis Wright of Lewistown, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 10 sisters and brothers.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North in Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Washington County Unit, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742; or Home Care Services, 1101 Jefferson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Trey A. Lucas

Trey Austin Duray Lucas, infant son of Janie A. Fletcher and Joseph A. Lucas of 1 Cypress St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Maryland University Hospital in Baltimore.

He was born June 20, 2000 in Baltimore.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by paternal grandmother, Bonnie Beach of Hagerstown; paternal grandfather, Ken Hallmark of Hagerstown; maternal grandmother, Diane Edie of Falling Waters, W.Va.; maternal grandfather, Joe Moats of Hagerstown; aunts; uncles; and nieces.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown. The Rev. Ken Harris will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

Joel Z. Cohen

Joel Zechariah Cohen, infant son of John W. and Mary E. Esser Cohen of 10820 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
