Margaret C. Barnhart

Margaret C. Leisenger Barnhart, 93, of Clearview Nursing Home in Hagerstown, and formerly of 11858 Stull Road, Greencastle, Pa., died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born March 2, 1907, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Florence Miner Leisenger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Crawford C. Barnhart Sr., in 1984.

She was a homemaker, and helped her husband operate a farm in the Waynescastle, Pa. area from 1945 to 1966.

She was a member of Open Door Church in Chambersburg, Pa.

She is survived by two sisters, Janet Detrow of Hagerstown and Teresa Crider of Waynesboro; two brothers, Harvey Leisenger of Hagerstown and John Leisenger of Williamsport; six grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Crawford Barnhart II, Orville E. Barnhart and Robert M. Barnhart; and two sisters, Mary Carbaugh and Nettie Bonner.

Graveside services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro. The Rev. Arthur E. Brown will officiate.

There will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Open Door Church, 600 Miller St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Winifred M. Poffinberger

Winifred M. Poffinberger, 70, of 18639 Crestwood Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at her home.

Born May 25, 1930, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Marshall Sr. and Halsie Leona Rife Marshall.

Her husband, George Franklin Poffinberger, died in 1998.

She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church, the choir and Sunshine Visitors Club.

She was a member of Haven Road Senior Citizens Club, and was the pianist.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda E. Schpok of Merchantsville, N.J., Alice L. Poffinberger of Durham, N.C., and Helen M. Poffinberger of Carroll Valley, Pa.; two sons, Mark K. Poffinberger of Hagerstown, and David F. Poffinberger of Williamsport; one brother, David W. Marshall of Hagerstown; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, H. Louise Marshall, and Barbara M. Hale; and one brother, John H. Marshall Jr.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. Torben G. Aarsand will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Kevin D. Weddle

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Kevin David Weddle, 29, of Martinsburg, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at his home.

Born July 16, 1970, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Dewey and Dorothy Shifflett Weddle.

He is survived by three daughters, Stacia Weddle and Candice Weddle, both of Morgantown, W.Va., and Chelsea Weddle of New Jersey; a brother, Paul Weddle of Baltimore; paternal grandparents, Dewey and Amy C. Weddle of Baltimore; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harley D. Weddle.

Services and burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

William G. H. Barr

William G. H. Barr, 77, of 10212 Bear Creek Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 10, 1922, in Reading, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Katherine Kauffman Barr.

He was a retired employee of the United States Postal Service.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of Railroad Enthusiast Club.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Latney M. Oliff Barr; a daughter, Danielle Wecht Cape of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Mark Wecht of Annapolis, Kristen Wecht de Leon of Coopersburg, Pa. and Scott Wecht of Woodbine, Md.; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro.

Virginia C. Minghini

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Virginia Coe Minghini, 85, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at her home.

Born May 29, 1915, in Dargon, she was the daughter of the late Charles William and Elizabeth V. Moats Coe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B. Bruce Minghini.

She was a 1933 graduate of Brunswick (Md.) High School in Brunswick, Md.

She was a member of Golden Rule Chapter 69 Order of the Eastern Star; and Cedarettes.

She is survived by two brothers, John Norval Coe of Inwood, W.Va. and James W. Coe of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a niece; three nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys E. Smallwood and Velma G. Barbour; and a brother, Charles Woodrow Coe.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Walter Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
